In this guide-that’s-not-a-guide, metal detectorist cousins Ellie and Lucie explore their local landscape, getting to grips with the hobby, history and themselves along the way.
Ellie and Lucie were thrown together during the pandemic and brought their shared interests in history, culture, art and exploration together as they embarked on a journey to teach themselves metal detecting and discover the hidden history in the ground we tread. As they learned to read the landscape – and like every detectorist – search for treasure in many forms, their adventures, blending history and memoir, have given rise to a slew of finds spanning thousands of years of history.
Known online as @RomanFound, Ellie and Lucie have established an incredible online community of history enthusiasts, detectorists, and anyone interested in hidden stories and human connections who follow their travels, digs and discoveries.
This will be an evening of discovery as Ellie and Lucie talk about their experiences and sign copies of their wonderful book.
