For people of any age, no musical experience necessary. Book your place for sessions in June... This series of workshops in June, which brings together adults from the community and young people (including students from Thetford Academy) to co-create an original piece of music inspired by the stories held within the library's walls.
Based upstairs at Thetford Library, The Blank Page: Songs from the Library brings together adults from the community and young people (including students from Thetford Academy) to co-create an original piece of music inspired by the stories held within the library's walls.
Over four sessions, you'll collaborate with composer Hannah Conway, director and writer Hazel Gould and Britten Sinfonia musicians – writing, making, and shaping something new.
No musical experience needed. If you play an instrument, bring it along. If you don't, we'll have handheld percussion available, and we'll be using our voices throughout.
You don't need to attend all four sessions to take part — you're welcome to join even just one. If you can make the final session, which includes the sharing, that would be fantastic.
The residency concludes with a sharing performance on the afternoon of 19 June. We'd love friends, family, and the wider community to come and hear what we've made together. As this takes place within a working library, we ask that audience members book a free ticket in advance so we can keep numbers manageable for the space.

Friday 12 June: 13:00 - 16:00

Friday 19 June: 1:50pm – 6pm (performance at approx. 5pm)
