Join outdoor therapists Cara Burke and Janine Keeble for a reflective day of personal development in nature.
With the theme of stillness and introspection inspired by the natural world between midwinter and the Celtic festival of Imbolc, this is a day to slow down and reconnect with deep values and intuitive knowledge. It will be a time to press pause on the busy-ness of everyday life and make space for creative reflection, to meet ourselves where we’re at and to honour that.
Cara and Janine will invite you to join them in some gentle practices connecting with different areas of the country park site. These might involve a walking meditation through the woods, a grounding exercise with the stone circle, creating using natural materials and working with poetry and reflective writing around the fire. The itinerary can’t be finalised, however, until we can feel our way into January’s weather and how we connect with the site on the day.
Throughout the day, there will be opportunities to share thoughts and experiences in community, although there is no pressure to do so.
Practical info:
Bring something for lunch. There’s an indoor space where you can leave this.
We’ll provide some snacks and hot drinks. There’s a kettle available. Let us know if you require gluten-free or dairy-free products.
A toilet is available when we’re at the Friends of the park’s compound.
Dress for the weather. An extra layer is a good idea as we’ll be moving slowly or sitting. Paths are grassed and may be wet/muddy. If the weather is particularly wet, we do have an indoor space we can use but we intend to be outdoors in all but the most extreme conditions.
There’s a car park at the country park. We’ll send out detailed info to attendees in the week before the event.
