The 2026 Therapeutic Riders Division Horse Show, presented by Brushwood Stable & Jane C. MacElree, will take place on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at Thorncroft Equestrian Center. The presentation of the trophies and championship class will occur on Sunday, May 24, 2026 at the grounds of the Devon Horse Show. Prize List will be made available in February. Welcoming over 125 riders annually, T.R.D. is a testament to the hard work, talent, and preparation of its riders, culminating in a weekend of celebration for all involved. With three divisions and over 45 classes offered, T.R.D. is a premier competition for riders with and without disabilities, and an event of note to our community, welcoming over 400 visitors on Saturday, and innumerable guests to the Championship Class on Sunday.
The History of T.R.D.
In 1980, the front lawn at Thorncroft was the site of a powerful meeting of minds. A small group of dedicated volunteers from Bryn Mawr Rehab and Thorncroft assembled to discuss a moment in history for therapeutic riding, a day in May that would coincide with the world-famous Devon Horse Show, “The Therapeutic Riders Division of the Devon Horse Show.” Eleven riders competed in that first show, setting a standard of excellence, and creating the foundation for a show that has grown to recently include over 125 riders from the northeast. Over the many years, devoted volunteers and riders have nurtured and developed the show to where it is today, a nationally respected competition.
