About this Event
Therapeutic Poetry with Ross Ayres
Join us for an immersive Therapeutic Poetry Workshop, designed to bring the healing
power of poetry and therapy into close alignment. This workshop is a safe, inclusive
space where participants can explore self-expression through the art of poetry, using
words as a means of emotional release, personal growth, and connection with others.
The goal is to make both poetry and therapy more accessible by helping individuals find
an expressive outlet, regardless of their previous experience with writing or mental
health practices. Whether you are a seasoned poet or a complete beginner, this
workshop will foster an environment of openness and support.
Through prompted writing, group discussions, and sharing, participants will develop a
deeper appreciation for one another, cultivating a culture of connection that avoids
judgement. This workshop offers a unique opportunity to express yourself in a
therapeutic context, while also building meaningful connections with others on their own
journey toward self-growth and emotional healing.
We encourage participants to bring a short poem that they find useful for their mental
health and they would like to share. This could be an original work of their own or one
from another author. We also have a list of prompts if anyone wishes to write something
specifically for the session but needs inspiration or guidance:
● Letter to my teenage self
● The best and worst of me
● My biggest passion
● Rising to the challenge
● The things I have left behind
● What I will take with me
● Who am I?
● Thank you for...
● These are the things I could do without
