This course focuses on supporting practitioners to acquire the skills they need to deliver effective safeguarding supervision within their organisations.

Ideal for practitioners working in leadership and supervisory roles, from statutory and non-statutory sectors. Our one-day programme has been designed to leave delegates with a more comprehensive understanding of the benefits of effective safeguarding practice and their role and responsibility in delivering accessible and impactful safeguarding supervision.

Delegates will be supported to:

· Understand the importance of safeguarding supervision and the role that it plays in effective safeguarding practice.

· Understand the theoretical concepts that underpin safeguarding supervision.

· Recognise the different models of supervision and their relationship with safeguarding outcomes.

· Understand the expectations of the supervisor and supervisee.

· Recognise the effective steps that need to be taken to prepare for supervision.

Please note that this course will be delivered over Zoom.

Delegates will be e-mailed a reflective work journal (PDF) which can be downloaded and printed as an accompaniment to the course. This enables all attendees to keep a reflective record of their learning.

About the trainer:

The course facilitator, Nikki Holmes, has a career which has spanned over 20 years in the safeguarding sector and has worked in a variety of leadership and strategic roles. Nikki has also worked in the regulatory space, as a Children’s Services Inspector for the Care Quality Commission, leading and contributing to both national and local statutory review processes, where gaps in supervision and spaces for purposeful reflection were frequently found to be lacking.

She is passionate about supporting practitioners through supervision to navigate the complexity of the safeguarding landscape, and intentionally designed this course to enable a wide range of organisations to embed effective safeguarding processes and practice.
