Join guest artist, Peggy Allen, for an enlightening education in the tradition of theorem painting, a remarkable Early American craft that gained prominence from the Colonial era to the mid-1800s. This art form involves using multiple hand-cut stencils with oil paints to mimic the look of hand-painted artwork and was initially taught by traveling artists to finishing schools for young women.The workshop “Shaker Tree of Life,” which was previously sold out, will introduce beginners to the fundamental techniques of theorem painting, all while crafting this classic Early American design.
Tickets are $50/BHC Members and $60/Non-Members. Spaces for this event are very limited.
