About this Event
Kaelyn has a BA in Art and Art History from UIC and is currently working as a museum educator at the National Museum of Mexican Art. Kaelyn uses her work as a way to speak about her experiences as a woman and a Latina and uses her Art history background and social political knowledge to create work that connects her personal experiences to larger issues. She creates these connections through using historical knowledge and symbols conflated with contemporary sources such as memes and other forms of social media.
100% of the profits from any donations or purchases of art will be donated to Evanston Latinos. Funds raised will provide general operating support for Evanston Latinos, helping us uplift immigrant-owned small businesses and entrepreneurs, amplify Latino immigrant voices and leadership, and build powerful community partnerships that create lasting, collective impact. Together, we are strengthening a community where Latino families can thrive, even during times of fear and uncertainty. Concider donating in exchange for premium drink tickets to help Evanston Latinos raise enough money for their efforts supporting Latino families in our community during times of heightened immigration enforcement activity.
