Stagewright Theatrical Co is hosting auditions for the premier of "Applewhite" a dystopian Sci-fi/thriller

Synopsis:
"In 1997, UFO cult 'Heaven's Gate' committed mass suicide believing a comet passing through the solar system would teleport its members to a Level Beyond Human.
In the shadows of a dystopian future, Heaven's Gate rises again. Few take the cult's beliefs seriously, until the mysterious comet 'Hale Bopp' returns.."

Character Briefs:
Josephine (f 18-30)
A shy, introverted young woman with fixed principles who doesn't like to question the rules. Indoctrinated member of Heaven's Gate and unlikely best friend to Stella.
Stella (f 25- 40)
Colony member. A smart, outgoing young woman with a playful sassy nature. She is a scientist, a good one. and skeptical of religion.
Eugene (m/f open age)
Magistrate of the colony. Bloated with self importance.
Harold (m 25-40)
Colonial Inspector and husband to Stella. He is a stern but fair officer. He believes law to be the highest moral code and is ever suspicious of Heaven's Gates intentions.
Arthur (m/f age 40+)
Middle-aged spiritual leader of Heaven's Gate. He is intelligent, articulate, and exact. He believes religious obedience is more important than personal opinions.
Evelyn (f 25-45)
Middle-aged Heaven's gate member and wife to Richard.
Richard
Middle-aged Heaven's Gate member and husband to Evelyn.
Avery (f 18-30)
A soft-spoken, unemotional teenager who is loyal, intelligent and calculating. Member of Heaven's Gate
Thomas Nichols (m 30-50)
Middle-aged man who claims and appears to be from the year 1997. He is kind, humorous, gentle, nurturing, and very convincing.
Information Chief (m/f open age)
Colony Head of Information and Computing.
Applewhite
A man well past middle age.
EXTRAS: At least 4 actors to play multiple small parts of character doubles with lines. Colonists/ cult members, etc.
