Come along to the Town Hall in Henley on Novmber 24th and hear Mark Speight playng the magnificent Allen Theatre Organ.
In 1986, two days after his 16th birthday, Mark played his first sessions for dancing on the Wurlitzer at The Tower Ballroom and continued to do so for some time after that. This start to his working life enabled him to set out as a professional musician performing electronic organ concerts all over the UK in the winter months and various summer season organ playing jobs in Blackpool in the summer months. That continued until 2002 when he opted to discontinue as a professional musician and instead worked in a Blackpool accountancy practice until 2013.
In 2014, Mark was invited to re-join the team of organists at The Blackpool Tower Ballroom and in 2016 he was appointed bookkeeper and payroll manager at the local entertainment venue where he was the organist. He still plays there once a week and also performs regularly at The Tower Ballroom, having finished with accountancy and returned to being a professional musician.
