Opening just in time for the holidays, Planet Ant’s Black Box delivers a fiercely satirical and unsettling counter-programming option for those seeking something to address our increasingly insane world. Premiering December 12 and running through Christmas, this three-week event confronts the absurdity and violence of authoritarianism with humor, bite, theatrical boldness, and fun.

Anchored by Eugène Ionesco’s razor-sharp classic The Leader, the night also features new anti-fascist works by a lineup of Detroit playwrights. The full experience runs about one hour with no intermission and contains guns, death, and disturbing imagery.
