Milwaukee is full of gifted writers, authors with stories, insight, and voices that deserve to be seen and heard. Too often, though, writers work in isolation, carrying the weight of promotion, encouragement, and visibility alone.
The Writers’ Exchange is a gathering created to change that.
This is an intentional think-tank and community meetup for local Milwaukee authors who want to connect, collaborate, and support one another, not through publishing control, but through shared promotion, encouragement, and creative synergy.
What this gathering is about:
• Building a local community of writers
• Creating a supportive space for idea-sharing
• Exploring a collaborative book-club-style model that highlights each other’s work
Discussing future opportunities like:
- featured author spotlights
- shared book promotions
- public readings and signings
- and possibly a local authors event or conference
What this is NOT:
• Not a publishing pitch
• Not a sales trap
• Not ownership over your work
This is about writers helping writers, and The Captive Project serving as a hub and meeting place, not a gatekeeper.
Whether you’re self-published, traditionally published, or still developing your next project, if you’re a Milwaukee-based author who believes community is stronger than isolation, this table is for you.
