Wed. 9.17 | The Writer's Cafe: Black Women Connect

This cafe is designed for women and femme-identifying people who are Black or bi-racial across the Diaspora—African American, African, Caribbean, Afro-Latinx, Afro-European, and beyond.

All genres and experience levels are welcome: poets, novelists, screenwriters, bloggers, journalers, and anyone who simply wants to write.

What to Expect

📖 Warm Welcome
Settle in, meet other writers, and (if you’d like) share your name + what you’re working on.
Our cafe will be serving up signature cafe bevs, wine, and snacks to keep you fueled!

Choose Your Mode
Pick the style of writing that fits your mood:

  • Solo Writers – hide away in our nooks for quiet, focused time on your own projects.
  • Prompt Circle – gather around our signature mural on the cozy brown couch for themed prompts and timed exercises to spark creativity.
  • Collab Crew – take up space! claim your seat at the table for co-creating, brainstorming, or giving feedback.

✍🏾 Writing Time
Everyone dives into their chosen mode with the freedom to flow.

🎤 Share or Connect
Read aloud, share a line, or just talk about what you worked on. Optional - no pressure.

🌱 Closing
We’ll wrap up with a writing affirmation, announce the next meetup, and invite you to hang back and connect socially.
