The Audacity! welcomes the World of Drum & Bass Tour back to Honolulu - featuring Roni Size, Benny L, Bad Company, DJ SS, T.R.A.C., MC Toddlah, and a huge lineup of local support!
RONI SIZE

Roni Size’s whole life has been about building something new from whatever was around him. From Bristol youthclub parties, through the white heat of rave and the founding moments of jungle and drum’n’bass, to transforming underground electronic music into something that could be played by a live band on the biggest arena and festival stages, he has at each stage created completely afresh - not just a sound or style but an entire methodology of how music can be made. And each time, that new creation has reflected his heritage, his surroundings and the precise moment in which he’s operating.
27-years ago, The Mercury Prize win for his ‘New Forms’ album brought D’n’B to the forefront of dance-music news, making even the rest of the industry – where reactions had up until that point been bemused – sit up and pay attention. For several years thereafter Roni and team were on top of the world, succeeding as solo artists as well as a collective, maintaining underground credibility yet receiving Brit awards and even collaborating with some of the biggest names in hip hop.
He continues to be in high demand with the world’s best festivals and brand new Roni music scheduled and special announcements coming this year, the future looks bright for this legend.
BENNY L

Growing up, music was the center point of Benny’s life. After learning a range of instruments, including drums, the piano, trumpet, and even the violin, he dedicated some of his most formative years to perfecting his craft. Although this could only be expected, as he grew up alongside family members who also devoted just as much time to honing their own musicality. But it was his older brother who eventually led him to an interest in DJing. Benny spent hours watching him mix in his bedroom, spinning everything from Jungle to Garage. Benny also began to seek out pirate radio stations in his local area, helping him develop his own musical tastes, which only grew as he got older. His brother would regularly head down to Swag Records and Big Apple Records in Croydon, with Benny waiting patiently for his return to hear about his weekly exploits. And when Benny eventually started purchasing his own music, he laid his hands on the Drum & Bass Arena ‘The Classics’ Compilation, mixed by Goldie in 2005, as well as Dillinja’s Cybotron album, which blew his ears away upon first listen.
Once his teenage years hit, he attended his first drum & bass night at Ministry of Sound on a Thursday in 2011. It was here that Benny was introduced to some of the genre’s finest contemporary selections. He witnessed head honchos Andy C and London Elektricity throw down their records, but it wasn’t until he saw the legendary Dillinja at London’s Cable nightclub that he decided to follow a similar path.
At the age of fifteen/sixteen, he finally got hold of his brother’s turntables and sifted through boxes of vinyl, diligently mixing until he began playing out in the living rooms of friends’ parties. He then attended a Performing Arts Academy in Bristol, where he worked for a year on a production and DJ course, learning the trade as well as all that goes into the industry. The first drum & bass tune Benny ever feasted on was Dillinja’s ‘Nasty Ways,’ which instantly captivated him with its hard-hitting sounds. He was enthralled by Dillinja’s style, and he was instantly gripped by the entirety of his back catalogue. DJ Hazard also had a resounding influence on Benny’s path to notoriety after seeing him play at Motion in 2012, Then watching the infamous DJ Randall taught him exactly how a DJ should handle the decks. Dropping tracks at the right time and not being afraid to hold back and roll the mix out was something he adopted from the heavyweight.
After being discovered by Audioporn Records head honcho and pivotal drum & bass player Shimon, his first track, ‘Speakers Vibrate,’ landed in Shimon’s inbox. The ‘Granulate’ EP followed suit, as well as the definitive ‘Thunder,’ which firmly put him on the map via Audioporn. And since releasing ‘Low Blow’ and ‘Vanta Black’ on the historic imprint Metalheadz, Benny made history when his remix of ‘John Holt - Police In Helicopter’ became the first DnB track to score a Beatport number 1 across all genres, making him a much sought-after remixer.
Fast forward to 2021, after the successful release of the 'Reactions' album and a tour of New Zealand and Australia, Benny was now focusing on setting up his own imprint, TrES-2b Music with Shimon & Trimer. Launched with ‘Alchemy’ featuring the very talented vocalist Shady Novelle, it was the perfect opener for the newly founded label. This then kicked off a succession of collaborations and releases with the likes of Bladerunner, Jappa & Ragga Twins, Trimer, Sweetpea, and Limited. The label was well on its way on the new journey, with consistent releases from Heist & Pleasure and also new talent such as LeStR and El. TrES-2b had firmly landed on the radar of Drum & Bass labels. Now, with Benny’s highly anticipated tracks 'Replicant' and 'Shadow People' that reminisce the impact Vanta Black had on the scene, and a packed DJ schedule hitting up some of the biggest clubs and festivals across the world, he has proved that the pages are still turning fast for Benny L.
BAD COMPANY UK

Bad Company UK, a legendary drum and bass group formed in the late 1990s, is widely regarded as one of the most influential acts in the history of the genre. Comprised of members Jason Maldini, Darren White (dBridge), Michael Wojcicki (Vegas), and Dan Stein (DJ Fresh), the group emerged from London with a shared vision of pushing drum and bass into new, experimental territories. Their innovative approach redefined the sound of the late '90s and early 2000s, solidifying their legacy in the drum and bass scene.
The group’s debut album, Inside the Machine (1998), is a seminal release that introduced their dark, futuristic aesthetic. Tracks such as Nitrous and The Nine quickly became iconic, with The Nine often cited as one of the greatest drum and bass tracks of all time. Their subsequent albums, Digital Nation (2000) and Shot Down on Safari (2002), continued to push sonic boundaries, incorporating cutting-edge production techniques and expanding the genre’s possibilities.
In addition to their own productions, Bad Company UK founded the label BC Recordings, which became a hub for innovative drum and bass music. The label not only released their own material but also supported emerging talent, contributing to the development of a new wave of producers. Individually, the members have pursued successful solo careers, with dBridge becoming a respected figure in the minimal and experimental side of drum and bass, and DJ Fresh achieving mainstream success with hits like Gold Dust.
Renowned for their electrifying live performances, Bad Company UK has graced stages at major festivals and clubs worldwide, delivering high-energy sets that showcase their groundbreaking tracks alongside fresh material. T.R.A.C.

Growing up in Brooklyn, New York, education in hip-hop beats and lyricism was standard, and local sounds were diverse. With other influences from jazz, R&B, reggae, rock, soul, and house, music was always at the forefront of T.R.A.C’s daily motion. Inspired by the likes of A Tribe Called Quest, Wu Tang Clan, and Pete Rock, T.R.A.C. was a keen student of music culture early on. Carving his own niche with flavors of blues and soul added to his undeniable lyrical skill, he became a fixture of the New York underground landscape, and has now established himself internationally as a respected vocalist, musician, and emcee - he can be found playing all over the US and UK; in Austria, the Czech Republic, Romania, Canada, and of course at Sun and Bass in Italy.
Over the years, T.R.A.C. has developed an unmistakable symbiosis between hip hop and drum and bass. Along this journey he’s been connecting these genre dots in a totally unique way, forming a sound of his own which has become a staple in the US and worldwide dance music scene. T.R.A.C.’s first solo 2011 hip hop album “The Network” was produced by Reinforced Records and 4hero pioneer Marc Mac, where the junglist influences were close at hand. After more of his tunes found their way onto labels such as SGN:LTD, Jazzsticks, and Intrigue, T.R.A.C.’s focus sharpened. His 2017 “Life in Motion” album on V Recordings brought some of the most detailed insights yet into this prolific artist’s musical ethos. Featuring productions/collabs from heavy hitters like Lenzman, Bladerunner, Calibre, Atlantic Connection, Serum, David Boomah, Dynamite, Conrad and others, this is a nonstop soul-infused ride through T.R.A.C.'s unmatched blends of hip hop, soul, and DnB. With a diverse portfolio of releases, and “Life in Motion” becoming an instant classic—T.R.A.C.’s reach continues to grow with tremendous momentum.
MC TODDLAH

Like many in his generation Toddlah found a love & passion for music at a young age. Influenced by situation & circumstance, having been raised in a family of musicians & having older relatives being active DJs & MCs on the local circuit, it was inevitable Toddlah was going to pick it up sooner or later. Age 14 is when that time came. Listening to those around him, taking advise & studying tapepacks & cd compilation of the time, Toddlah fast found his own style & By the age of 15 he was already performing in small clubs around his hometown of Coventry & the local area.
Since 2008 Toddlah has been actively performing at major events across the UK & Europe aswell as promoting his own events, hosting sold out shows in Coventry, Northampton & Bremen in Germany.
