HappyPlace Productions announces auditions for our youth show The Wind in the Willows; Young @ Part on April 6 & 7 from 6pm – 9pm (you are only required to attend one night of auditions). Invited call backs are April 8 from 6pm-9pm. Auditions and Rehearsals will take place at Elevate Church. Performers ages 5-13 are welcome to audition.

Audition Information: Prepare 16-32 bars (1-2 minutes) of a musical theater song that best demonstrates your singing ability. Bring your sheet music as an accompanist will be provided. There will be a short dance taught at auditions; no prepared dance is required. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes to dance in.
Come prepared to have your headshot taken the night you audition. This will be the headshot we use for your bio in the program and all promotional posts! There is a cast fee of $50 for those cast in the show.

Summary:
The Wind in the Willows is a rollicking, adventurous musical based on Kenneth Grahame’s classic of children’s literature. This riotous comedy follows Mole, Rat, Badger, and the impulsive Mr. Toad, whose insatiable need for speed lands him in serious trouble. With his beloved home under threat from the notorious Chief Weasel and his gang of sinister Wild Wooders, Toad must attempt a daring escape leading to a series of misadventures and a heroic battle to recapture Toad Hall.
Cast of Characters:
Mr. Toad - A boisterous character who is always on the lookout for the next best thing
Rat - Kind and helpful in nature and has a hard time expressing feelings
Mole - A curious creature who is new to the outside world
Chief Weasel - A true leader of the pack; smart, sly and bossy
Badger - Tough on the outside with a tender softness on the inside; prefers to live alone and in peace
Mrs. Otter - Mother to Portia. Strong and boldly herself
Mrs. Hedgehog - A concerned mother who is almost perfect in every way
Portia - Curious and naive, which can lead her into trouble
Gaoler's Daughter - Kind woman who helps Toad in his time of need
Ensemble - Mr. Squirrel, Sheryl Stoat, Magistrate, Train Driver, and other creatures
