About this Event
While Diana and Meg are once again galivanting around Europe, we’re calling in the Morgan brothers! Ron and Steve Morgan, both native sons of Evanston, are delighted to host a class at Wine Goddess focused on the value driven, distinguished and delicious white wines of Italy. Ron came to his love of wine as director of operation for Verve Wine Chicago, and Steve as the Midwest regional manager for The Sorting Table, one of the shop’s favorite importers of French and Italian wine. Both feel Italian whites are woefully overlooked, or worse, lumped into the pinot grigio paradigm universe—doing a deep injustice to some of the most exciting and ageable white wines on the planet. We’ll talk about Italy’s indigenous grape varieties, terroir, traditional and non traditional pairings, and also wax poetic about restaurants of Evanston’s past. (Man we miss Boltwood. When was the last time any of us ate a whole apple pancake?)
Things to note:
• One-week cancellation policy
• Note this is a class, not a tasting: please keep chatter to a minimum
• We're within a block from both the Main Street Metra and the Main Street “EL” stops
• We usually taste seven wines in a class: please eat prior!
