SATURDAY 4TH & SUNDAY 5TH of JULY 2026Welcome to the X-Wing Welsh Open Tournament 2026!
After a very successful debut in 2023, the Welsh Open is back for it's third year in 2025 as a large-scale premier level 2 day X-Wing event!
The main event will have 5 rounds of swiss on day 1 followed by a top cut elimination on day 2. For those who do not make it into the cut there will be a 4 round side event on day 2.
As part of the XWA's second Organised Play season, the tournament will run using the latest X-Wing Alliance rules which can be found on the website - https://www.xwing.life/

Schedule
Day 1:
Registration - 9:00
Round 1 starts - 09:45
Lunch after round 2
Round 5 ends by around 19:00
Day 2:
Arrive by - 9:00
Top Cut round 1 - 09:45
Lunch break after round 2
Final ends by - 17:00
A day 2 side event schedule will run concurrently with the cut through 4 rounds of swiss.

This year the Welsh Open is being held at a new venue - The Arena in Newport - https://www.thearenatabletop.com/
The gaming venue is available to players on Friday from 4pm for practice. Table space will need to be paid for, details will follow on the Facebook event page.

Prize Support:
As always, we plan to be as generous as we can with our prizing and we guarantee that everyone will leave with something. There will be a trophy for the winner plus other prizes throughout the competition including templates, tokens, alt arts and whatever else we can think of. We will also have various spot prizes across the weekend. We expect that the event will again be an XWA System Open level event but with the next OP season still in the planning stage, further details will follow when available.
