About this Event
Experience taiping houkui, matcha, and gyokuro to celebrate the transition from spring to summer.
Learn about each tea: the region, history, cultivation and processing, steeping methods and associated rituals and ways of life.
The teas will be prepared in handmade tea wares also made by the artist, and light snacks like dried fruit and rice crackers will be served alongside.
Helen Kong is a local tea practitioner and ceramicist. Her practice, Secret Teatime, is focused on tea vessels and fostering connection through pottery and tea. Helen teaches at her own studio as well as The Potter’s Studio, and has had residencies at the Banff Centre, Tangled Arts and has participated in Nuit Blanche and DesignTO.
