The Wall and The Wall - Femmes.Quite possibly the World's premier handicap cycling road race.
On December 8 riders will climb, race and test themselves as they aim to stay ahead of the chasing packs. No sitting in, no complaining, just a race to ‘The Wall’.
Designed to test riders, this course will see only the strongest survive to the finish line which will be at the peak of the West Head Wall. With each of the groups having to out-pedal and out-wit the faster groups behind them who will be honing in on them the whole time.
The race will start at Resolute Bay within the National Park and riders will roll out and almost immediately be faced with the first climb of the day, does the group conserve energy here or just go hard from the start?
The finish line will be at the infamous Wall - ensuring a final all out sprint up the berg which peaks out at a gradient of 13%. Like all good handicaps this race is based on first over the line and fastest time.
This year we will feature our innagrual The Wall - Femmes, raced over three laps with separate bunches and a separate prize pool.
