About this Event
An Evening of Comedy, Cabaret, Cooking, Ted Talk
Already in need of an escape from 2026? Let creator and hostess-extraordinaire, Melanie Wehrmacher, take you on a trip back to 1943, when Spam was king, and the Andrews were Sisters of swing. With generous dollops of comedy, cabaret, cooking show, trivia, and Ted Talk, this unique theatrical experience offers a captivating glimpse into what folks in 1943 were reading about in Life and Time, all while having the time of your life. The Victory Romp also features Luke Davidson, Abbi Fern, Alan Jermiason, and Eric Morris. Brought to you by Adventures In Hostessville.

Actor and playwright Melanie Wehrmacher has been seen locally at the Jungle Theatre, Penumbra, History Theatre, Park Square, Mixed Blood, Pillsbury House, and Yellow Tree, among others. She has spent 25 years creating museum theatre for institutions such as the Central Park Zoo, Science Museum of Minnesota, New York Hall of Science, Minnesota Historical Society, and the Milwaukee Zoo. During the pandemic, those interests and “edu-tainment” skills inspired her YouTube channel Adventures in Hostessville, which has grown into a live event series. She firmly believes that “those who don’t learn history are doomed to repeat it” and “those who don’t eat snacks are doomed to be hungry.”
