There's something irresistible about the power of a courtroom drama.
Frank Galvin has seen better days. A veteran lawyer who lost his way, he's handed what looks like an easy case, a straightforward medical malpractice suit nobody expects him to win. Up against the unforgiving medical establishment, he courageously refuses an out of court settlement, believing it is negligence that has condemned a young mother. Convinced there is a cover up, he instead takes the case and the entire legal system to court…
Based upon Barry Reed’s 1980 novel, which in turn was made into a highly successful film starring Paul Newman, The Verdict is billed as a ‘courtroom drama’, but it has many traits of a thriller as well. Expect twists, turns and more than a few surprises along the way.
