The Velvet Glove Play the Songs of The Velvet Underground, UnpluggedIn the early 70s Cripple was one of the first bands to fall under the influence of The Velvet Underground, a signature ingredient of the Dunedin sound. Lou Reed’s remarkable songwriting - songs like “Sweet Jane” and “I’m Waiting for the Man - found a natural home at the heart of Cripple’s set.
The Velvet Glove reunites three members of that band - John Dodd (Midge Marsden, The Chaps, Skin and Bone), Chris Nichol (The Dunstan Rangers, The Zimmermans) and Lindsay Gregory (The Dunstan Rangers, Heaven Bent). They’re joined by Martin Durrant (Sneaky Feelings, The Zimmermans) and Bill Nichol (Baby) for a one-off performance at The Undercurrent.
Be sure you’re there when The Velvet Glove breathes fresh life into two sets of classic songs from The Velvet Underground catalogue.
