Welcome to the premiere of 'The UK Solidarity Story', an epic tale of inspiring moments in history.
About this Event

Welcome to The UK Solidarity Story Film Premiere! Join us at The Castle Cinema for this first screening. Be among the first to witness the powerful story of solidarity on the big screen.

This epic feature documentary covers over 160 years of inspiring tales. From the Lancashire millworkers in the 1860's who supported the abolition of slavery to volunteers in the Spanish civil war to the Grunwick lions. The film charts ten key moments in history where making common cause has lessons for us all today. With expert testimony interwoven with compelling archive, this is a visual essay for our time. One that challenges cultural silos and sets the record straight on lesser known tales of bravery, which at times changed the course of history. Today's virtue signalling can never replace the powerful impact made by taking action in support of our peers, and that's solidarity.

We’d be delighted if you can make it as a VIP guest. It’s free to attend but you need to reserve a seat and we are hopeful all attendees will make a donation to help us cover the cinema hire.

After the film, we’ll be serving lunch in a bun and the bar will be open for post-screening drinks and chat in this wonderful art deco cinema in Hackney. We look forward to seeing you on the red carpet!
