About this Event
The Toronto Antiquarian Book Fair returns downtown this November at OCAD University’s new Waterfront campus. Hosted by the Antiquarian Booksellers’ Association of Canada (ABAC), this celebrated annual event gathers booksellers from across Canada, the United States, and overseas, each presenting a curated selection of rare and collectible material for sale, from early printed books and fine bindings to maps, prints, ephemera, and modern first editions.
All participating booksellers are members of the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers, a global trade organization that upholds the highest standards of professionalism and collegiality in the rare book world. Despite the lofty credentials, you’ll find a warm and welcoming atmosphere, where booksellers are happy to answer questions and share their expertise with newcomers and collectors alike.
Think of the fair as a blend of Antiques Roadshow and a refined pop-up market, an opportunity to browse, learn, and buy across a broad and fascinating array of historical material. Whether you are an experienced collector or just beginning your journey, a librarian, archivist, scholar, or simply a lover of the printed word, the fair is open to all book enthusiasts.
The venue, OCAD University’s new Waterfront campus, is accessible and inviting, easily reached by public transit, with convenient parking and surrounded by cafés, restaurants, and shops. One ticket grants admission for all three days of the fair.
The Toronto Antiquarian Book Fair is proudly sponsored by Friends of the Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library and AbeBooks.
