About this Event
Whilst we look for a permanent home, we are running monthly pop-up events across Waltham Forest.
Join us on Sunday 25th September from 2pm-4pm at . After trialling this new space in July, we’re very excited to be back here. The space comprises an indoor room (also where toilets are located), large enclosed garden and within the garden is an open tent.
We're aiming this event at all ages as we've got activities planned that would suit everyone. See below for more age-specific activities.
Here's what to expect at the space:
INDOORS:
Sensory Den and quiet activities (sit with ipad/fidget toys/pogs)
GARDEN:
Usman from Haven Coffee will be back with his pop-up café serving freshly roasted coffee, hot drinks and local pastries.
Plus we've got local friends Hackney Gelato this time too!
Garden Entertainment:
Our soft play area will have a bounce and slide bouncy castle, jungle themed soft play and ball pit.
Art Forest School:
'Action Painting'
Pippa and Lucy from Art Forest School are facilitating a fun, carefree celebration of mark-making using movement, objects and colour in unexpected ways. Participants will be invited to throw, drip, shake, squash, stamp, rock and roll their colours, and to revel in the vitality of painting beyond brushes.
As ever, there will be plenty of natural materials to use and explore, and an emphasis on the Forest School ethos of child-led creative endeavour as a valuable object in itself.
OPEN TENT:
Classes:
2:15 - 2:45pm: Family Yoga - inclusive Yoga where we will stretch and move our bodies, practise breathing techniques and relax our minds (for all ages)
2:00 - 4:00pm: Busy Bricks Duplo and Lego - We missed her at the last one but Zara is back to run one of her amazing Duplo workshops offering children the opportunity to create, build and explore the world through Duplo. She will also set up a Lego corner for the older children so there's something for everyone. Lego will be set up from 2pm. Duplo workshop will run from 3pm-4pm.
Magic Giant Wobbly Head Mirror - Filmmaker Jonathan will be offering a 1:1 video making activity where children can create a short clip of themselves dancing or moving in fun ways with a filter that distorts the image of their body. (most suitable for ages 6+)
If your child needs more time to get used to the space and/or would benefit from arriving before others, please feel free to come a bit before the stated start time.
