About this Event
Join us on Sunday 15th December from 10:30am - 1pm at Peterhouse Community Centre. This will be a lovely festive event without much emphasis on Christmas but more a festive celebration of winter.
All provider details to be released very soon (we're just finalising a few of them!) but definitely confirmed are:
Creative Community who will be running the Art Workshop.
Community Patchwork Blanket
As part of the councils Fellowship Square fund, we are making a patchwork blanket to celebrate our diverse community and a nod to William Morris textiles. “Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.” - William Morris. We will be using old fabric and garments to repair reuse and reimagine their existing clothes into a new community blanket.
We would like you to bring fabric from your heritage and culture- 30cm x 30cm as the base for each patchwork but also any other fabric you would like to use that represents you and your family. Please see below an example of the mix of fabric that can be used for making this blanket. Traditional fabrics from old clothes like kente or indian fabric etc, table clothes, tea towels, t-shirts or clothes you can't wear anymore, the more colourful the better!
