Create a short film from scratch, guided by professionals and join the Bison herd. Open to young actors & creatives aged 11-18.
About this Event

Bison Arts Collective is a community of artists devoted to creating opportunities to practise, produce & perform, since 2016. We we are extremely excited to invite young actors & creatives to join us in this for the first time here in Australia.

About the program:

This program is for young people aged 11-18 who want to work with us to create an incredible short film, in a short space of time. Over the course of three days, we will come up with the concept, story & script and rehearse & shoot a professional quality short film. With lessons on screen acting, directing for camera & production skills woven into the experience, this is a chance to learn on the job.

We believe in the raw talent & creativity of young people and we are excited to harness it using top of the range, industry standard equipment and safe, contained, eye-catching locations with the intention of creating a festival worthy short film in just 3 days.

Spaces are extremely limited to ensure high quality work & plenty of hands on experience for everyone who takes part. We are just as interested in working with budding writers & directors as we are with young actors, and if you're interested in both - even better.

The total cost is $500 per participant, with a $100 deposit payable now to secure your place, and the remaining $400 due a week before the start of the program. The program includes 3 x 7.5hr days on location with professionals, digital delivery of the finished short film shot in 4K, 1 x actor headshot & our Bison mini-guide to working in film.

About the location:

The program will take place in a secure, private building not accessible to the public. Our base camp will be in the large, comfortable private function room with options to shoot around the building, adding production value with a variety of scene locations. Everything should be fully accessible, but if you have any accessibility requirements, please discuss these with us first to ensure we are able to accommodate.
