About this Event

Theatre and Performance BA and Theatre and Film BA present The Thread: an exhibition of live art, installation and multimedia projects.

Join us for an exhibition inspired by the multiple meanings of the word "thread". Threads, as strands of material, can hold something together, but may also come apart, becoming loose. A thread is a symbol for causality and cohesion: in narrative/dramaturgy, we look for threads, as themes or characteristic providing a through-line to a story. We may thread through a crowd, through obstacles. We may hang from a thread, in an increasingly precarious human condition… Have we lost our thread?...

Starting from this stimulus, students from our third year Theatre and Performance and Theatre and Film BA have developed artistic responses in the form of installations and durational performances, exploring ideas of gender, personal identity, mental health and contemporary philosophy.
