Join us for our third Shapenote weekend! The programme is as follows:
Friday
7.30pm - Singing School and Singing
Saturday
10.30am - 3.30pm - Singing with Dinner on the Grounds at Lunchtime (if you are able, bring something to share)
7.00pm - Evening sing and social (singing from alternative sources - Christian Harmony/Shenandoah Harmony etc)
Sunday
1.30pm - 4.00pm - Afternoon Sing
Evening – 9.00pm – 11pm Optional Open Folk Session - Ormidale Hotel, Brodick
Accommodation
Heidi will let you know specific details about your room allocation in Dundarroch for those who are staying there, but a reminder that Sannox is self-catering. There are no shops in Sannox, so you will need to pick up supplies in Brodick or bring supplies with you. There is a café across the road, the Corrie Tea Room, open from 9am – 3pm who do a good breakfast and lunch. The centre has a small shared kitchen, dining table and lounge.
Saturday ‘Dinner on the Grounds’ – shared lunch is a big Sacred Harp tradition and if you’re able, please bring some food to share. We have an oven and microwave to heat things up, but these facilities are limited. We’ll use up any leftovers during the break on Sunday!
Donation - Our centre accommodation is on a donation basis, but recommend guide is £40pppn. Camping guests, a donation of your choosing. There will also be an offering during the singing on the Saturday to help cover some costs of hosting that day in addition to but separate from the accommodation.
Camping – for any who are camping, you will have access to the church kitchen and toilets, and to the shower room in the cottage. We ask that you do not light fires or BBQs on site and leave no trace when you leave. Camping will be between the church and the cottage under the trees. Again, be aware of the neighbours just over the fence as far as noise levels are concerned.
