The Tennant Cup is open to all male golfers who are members of Scottish Golf affiliated clubs or an affiliated club in their home country, are of amateur status as defined by The R&A Rules Limited & in possession of a current WHS handicap index of NOT MORE THAN 1.0. The Tennant Cup, the oldest amateur strokeplay competition in the world, was first played for in 1880 over two rounds when Glasgow Golf Club’s 10-hole home course was at Alexandra Park.
It was then played over Gailes Links and Killermont at various stages before it was extended to its current format of 72-holes in 1976, with two rounds at Gailes Links on Saturday and for those who make the cut, two rounds at Killermont the following day.
Follow in the footsteps of previous winners and Ryder Cup stalwarts Bernard Gallacher OBE and Stephen Gallacher and Marc Leishman who won in the Killermont course Centenary year of 2004.
