Formed from a Paisley pub session back in 1968, The Tannahill Weavers have gone on to become one of Scotland’s most loved and respected traditional bands and now they’re bringing their infectious energy to our stage.
Expect stirring ballads, rich vocal harmonies, and foot-stomping reels and jigs, all delivered with the passion and drive that’s earned them fans far beyond the folk world.
Their music may be rooted in centuries-old Celtic tradition, but the spirit is pure rock ’n’ roll. As the Winnipeg Free Press put it:
“The drive and enthusiasm are akin to straight-ahead rock and roll.”
Members of the Scottish Traditional Music Hall of Fame and currently recording their 20th album, the ‘Tannies’ are still going strong in their 58th year, proving that great music only gets better with time.
If you love live music with heart, history and heaps of atmosphere, this is a night not to miss.
