For thirty years, the Suspicious Cheese Lords have specialized in Renaissance choral music, seeking out works which may be unknown even to audiences familiar with the genre. This concert will feature works by more well-known European composers such as Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, but also rarely-heard gems by the decidedly less familiar Elzéar Genet, Ludwig Senfl, and Jean Mouton. The program will be rounded out with a selection of both secular and more modern pieces, demonstrating the continued appeal of unaccompanied human voices.
Dear Friends,
We are thrilled to welcome you to the 2025 - 2026 season of the Grace Church Concert Series - our 26th anniversary season! For the past 25 seasons, we have been delighted to bring world-renowned artists to our community, and this season is no exception.
In October, soprano Melissa Givens will present a program of African-American spirituals. In November, Marcel Penzes and the Mardi Gras Parishioners will thill with a performance of Dixieland Jazz. We will welcome Amit Peled and the Cello Gang for a return performance in March. In April, we will enjoy the smooth sounds of the a cappella men's choir, The Suspicious Cheese Lords. All performances will take place in the church, and will be followed by a reception with the artists in the Parish Hall.
We wish to express our deep gratitude to those participating in our Grace Church Angel program. Their support allows us to bring world-class performers to our community at a reasonable price for everyone.
