An amazing line-up of talented jazz artists will grace the beautiful stage of a historic military airplane hangar 9 on Saturday, October 12th. The Alamo City is home to four proud U.S. military bases. Platinum Tables and individual seating, Silver Tables and indivdual seating and Gold individual seating attendees will enjoy delicious foods from local food trucks, cash bar, merchandise vendors, free parking as Soul-Jazz Saxophonist Tom Braxton, Saxman Kyle Turner, and R&B vocalist Rayvon Foster and Kai Hicks deliver an amazing evening of music. Tom Braxton has garnered critical acclaim while thrilling audiences of all ages from coast to coast and abroad for over two decades. From Africa to Japan...from New York to Los Angeles, Braxton’s distinct, melodic sound leaves audiences astounded, clapping, and on their feet.
This charismatic performer has been a headliner on the Algarve Smooth Jazz Festival in Portugal, the Stanbic Jazz Festival in Ghana, the Smooth Jazz Europe Festival in the Netherlands, and the Nile Gold Jazz Safari in Uganda. He was also showcased on the Java Jazz Festival in Jakarta, Indonesia. He’s also been a featured artist and fan favorite on the Smooth Jazz Cruise for 12 years.
Braxton has toured extensively with both Earl Klugh and Wayman Tisdale, serving as the latter’s Musical Director. He’s also shared the stage with many notable artists including Bob James, Lee Ritenour, Dave Koz, Marcus Miller, Paul Jackson Jr., George Duke, Kirk Whalum, Aretha Franklin, Luther Vandross, Sheila E., Rick Braun, Keiko Matsui, Brian Culbertson, Candy Dulfer, Warren Hill, Paul Brown, Jonathan Butler, Peter White, Jeff Golub, Norman Brown, and Philip Bailey.
His extensive musical travels have brought him to audiences in South Africa, Malawi, Mozambique, Russia, Eastern Europe, Malaysia, and Japan.
Tom’s own music can be heard on radio and television airwaves nationwide, and his albums have hit numerous jazz charts and best seller lists including Billboard, RadioWave, SmoothJazz.com, and Amazon. He was inducted into the West Texas Walk of Fame in 2017. He has been featured in media and publications such as JAZZIZ, Smooth Jazz News, The Saxophone Journal, CBS's The Saturday Early Show, Ugandan Television, and Daystar Television Network.
Houston saxophonist, Kyle Turner has been a mainstay in the Texas music scene for over three decades. After attending Jackson State University, he began touring with Luther Vandross and Johnnie Taylor. In 1990, Turner began to focus on his own career as a leader in Austin, Texas. It was there he held residency at the top clubs on 6th Street. His CDs It’s Time, Sincerely Yours, KT3, and Wrapped Tight all garnered chart success and led to concerts and recordings with Bobby Lyle, Marion Meadows, Joe Sample, Kirk Whalum, Kim Waters, and many other artists.
"Kai is a pioneer in the Houston underground live music movement. She began her professional career singing background vocals for R&B legend Regina Belle in 2005. She's since toured with J Holiday, Ledisi, Jennifer Lopez, Chante Moore and Houston's most famous artists, including legendary rapper Scarface and Destiny Child (Beyonce and Letoya Luckett respectively.)"
