The Roeliff Jansen Community Library is delighted to welcome The Storycrafters for a live performance of The Snow Queen on Saturday, December 6 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Families are invited to enjoy this vibrant retelling of Hans Christian Andersen’s beloved fairy tale, the classic story that inspired Disney’s Frozen.Barry Marshall and Jeri Burns, PhD—known professionally as The Storycrafters—have long cherished The Snow Queen and developed their own adaptation years ago. Their version of the tale has since received widespread acclaim and multiple awards, celebrated for its dynamic storytelling, memorable characters, evocative themes, and original music. This family-friendly performance offers a lively winter adventure perfect for school-aged children and their caregivers. It’s an ideal way to spend a cozy December afternoon at the library.
The Storycrafters have been performing together since 1991 and are recognized leaders in the storytelling world. They received the National Storytelling Network’s prestigious Circle of Excellence Award in 2018 and have produced twelve award-winning recordings. Their 2018 book, Storytwisting, published by Parkhurst Brothers, was honored with the 2019 Storytelling World Award.
