This roundtable will take a broad look at the state of the international political economy, focusing on current challenges in the global multilateral trade regime, the energy transition in the global economy, the UK’s trade strategy, and the consequences for Scotland.

Speakers will also discuss sovereign debt and Scotland’s new government bonds policy and the changing development aid regime. The panel is comprised of Scotland-based experts: Dr Maha Rafi Atal (University of Glasgow), Dr Julia Calvert (University of Edinburgh), Dr Ben Cormier (University of Strathclyde), and Frances Guy (Scotland’s International Development Alliance), and is chaired by Professor Juliet Kaarbo (Scottish Council on Global Affairs/University of St Andrews).

Please note: this event includes a roundtable, which is scheduled to last until 5.15pm, followed by a reception.
