Have you ever watched a comedian and thought: “Honestly… I can do better”?Have your friends told you you’re funny, emotionally unstable, or both?
Congratulations — you may already have the raw materials for stand-up comedy.
A 6-week stand-up comedy course designed for beginners, aspiring comedians, and anyone looking to build confidence on stage.
Hosted by comedian Grant Gallacher each Saturday from 12th of June from 12.00 to 14.00. Session focuses on a different aspect of comedy writing and live performance, with guest lecturers joining throughout the course.
Students are encouraged to perform regularly at open mics during the program, with feedback and guidance from Grant after performances.
Throughout the course, attendees will:
-perform in every class,
-write and develop original material,
-learn joke structure and stage presence,
-refine and expand their sets,
-and prepare for a final graduation showcase in front of a live audience and comedy bookers from across Prague.
Course Overview
Lesson 1 — Take the Stage
Stage presence, microphone technique, confidence, body language, and handling nerves.
Lesson 2 — What Makes Something Funny?
Joke writing, comedic structure, topics, and turning ideas into full comedy bits.
Lesson 3 — Re-write, Re-try, Re-evaluate
How to review, improve, and strengthen material after performing it live.
Lesson 4 — Tags, Throughlines & Callbacks
Learning the tools that make sets sharper, stronger, and more memorable.
Lesson 5 — Set Structure
Building a cohesive 3–5 minute comedy set and learning transitions between topics.
Lesson 6 — Punching Up
Final edits, industry advice, next steps in comedy, and showcase preparation.
