The Spirit of the Elements A 5 Day series of Day Retreats with Acupuncturist Anne-Marie Fouche and Yoga Teacher Louise Windsor
A year long series in five parts to delve deeper into the sophisticated model of the Five Elements (wu xing) and the ways that this perspective can be understood in everyday life to bring health and balance. This can be taken as a CPD course for yoga teachers or just to come and enjoy a day diving into Chinese Medicine and Yin Yoga.
The exact origins of the theory are lost in ancient history but it is clear that this way of understanding the world was based on close observation of nature and the rhythms of the seasons and became absorbed into the later development of Taoism. The natural forces of yin yang, qi and the five elements offer a holistic health model that does not separate external changes such as seasonal movements from internal changes such as reactions and emotions.
We will be exploring this out in the beautiful nature of the Knepp Estate at The Yoga Garden through out the year. Each day will include;
Mindful time in nature
Philosophy discussions
Yin Yoga
Qi Gong
This is for teachers who would like to learn more about the Five Elements to bring into their life and offerings, but also to anyone else would like to learn the Chinese Medicine way of living mindfully through the year.

13th September 2025 - Earth
22nd November 2025 - Metal
17th January 2026 - Water
25th April 2026 - Wood
27th June 2026 - Fire
10am - 5pm each day
