Featuring acclaimed Brazilian classical guitarist Dr. Felipe Vargas Magdaleno, the Camerata Singers will perform Romancero Gitano by Spanish composer Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, an evocative work inspired by the poetry of Federico García Lorca. These early 20th-century poems, translated as Gypsy Ballads, reflect the beauty, struggle, and spirit of life in Andalusia. With bold rhythms and passionate harmonies, the music captures the soul of people living on the edges of society. Conducted by Dr. Letícia Grützmann, the performance also features the Midland Center Chorale.
