Explore Bonchurch’s two historic churchyards, revealing fascinating stories of residents laid to rest, from poets to pioneers. Discover rich history etched in stone across this remarkable village: one churchyard - an ancient eleventh-century site, the other a distinctive Victorian landscape setting.

Type of Walk: Linear
Start Location: The 11th Century Church, bottom of Bonchurch Shute, follow the old signs (walk towards East Dene and down the road).
Finish Location: Bonchurch 'New Church' Parish Church, Bonchurch, PO38 1PT (SZ 57657 78135)
Pace of Walk: Gentle - This walk will follow a gentle pace.
Walk grade: Moderate - Varying landscape with more challenging slopes. Stiles and steps to be expected en route, suitable for anyone who is reasonably active.
Mobility level: Suitable for a person with sufficient mobility to climb a flight of steps but would benefit from fixtures and fittings to aid balance.
