The Class: SoulFire Movement
is an emotional wellness practice that combines dance, fitness, and mindful movement. This class features a guided meditation, using colors to help unlock, acknowledge, and navigate your emotions. Led by Boston native , whose passion for dance and community shines through, SoulFire Movement blends high-energy workouts with authentic mindfulness techniques. Imagine Zumba meets Zen!
Class begins with a high-energy movement segment that will get your heart pumping and your body moving. Afterward, we transition into a mild yogic-inspired stretch session, followed by a mini meditation to help you find inner peace and relaxation. Each class, we focus on one of the seven chakra energy centers. “wheels of light” or color therapy, as a guide to express gratitude for our bodies. So let’s turn up & zen out!
About Your Instructor:
Michelle is a Dorchester resident, certified chakra & color therapy practitioner and a community pioneer with 18+ years of dance & fitness experience. After becoming a mom of twins at 16 years-old, Life as she knew it, had other plans. This became a major deterrent in her dreams of leaving home and experiencing college life. However, amid life's challenges, dance became her anchor and saving grace. Making history as the first American International Dancehall Queen, she began a passion-driven commitment to making a positive impact in the city of Boston through dance. With a focus on emotional well-being through movement, and as the founder of SoulFire Movement, Michelle aims to uplift, motivate, and energize groups, individuals, and organizations interested in using dance to connect with themselves and others.
