The Sobi Salon: Books, Art, and Conversation

The Sobi Salon is a curated creative gathering hosted by artist, author, and educator Michelle Rae Sobi. Guests will experience a preview of Michelle’s growing collection of published books alongside photographic artwork displayed throughout the studio.

This relaxed salon-style evening invites guests to explore the work, enjoy light food and drinks, and connect with others who appreciate thoughtful creative expression.

What is a Salon?

The Sobi Salon is inspired by the historic tradition of artistic salons where writers, artists, and thinkers gathered in intimate settings to share work and ideas.

Guests move through the studio viewing artwork, previewing books, and participating in conversation with the artist and fellow attendees.

Part gallery experience, part book preview, and part creative gathering, the evening offers a unique opportunity to experience the work in person.

Pre-orders will be placed following the event and books will be signed and delivered after printing.

Info: Guests are welcomed into the studio for the opening reception. Enjoy a vegetarian charcuterie grazing table featuring artisan cheeses, fruits, breads, olives, nuts, and seasonal selections while exploring the gallery space. This is a relaxed time to arrive, settle in, and begin viewing the artwork and book previews.

Info: Guests are invited to move through the studio gallery and view photographic works featured within Michelle Rae Sobi’s published books. Digital previews of the book collection will be looping on screen throughout the space, offering a closer look at selected pages and imagery from the Michelle Rae Sobi Digital Library.

Info: Michelle Rae Sobi offers a short welcome and reflection on the creative journey behind the books and artwork featured in the evening’s salon. She will share insights into the intersection of yoga, photography, and reflective writing that shaped the collection.

Info: Following the artist remarks, guests are invited to continue exploring the artwork and book previews while enjoying conversation in a relaxed salon setting. This portion of the evening is intentionally unstructured, allowing time for discussion, questions, and connection among attendees.

Info: One guest will be selected to receive a Private Wine Sampling Experience valued at $415. The winner will receive a certificate for a guided in-home tasting experience for up to 12 guests, including eight bottles of wine and a professional wine consultant.
