January is the best time to enjoy some of the clearest air of the year and the brightest stars in our night-time skies, including the brightest of all: Sirius.
In February, Saturn is easy to spot low in the western sky at sunset, with its rings once again visible as our perspective shifts. Jupiter shines brighter and higher overhead. We’ll help you find them both on crisp winter evenings.
In March, look up and find Venus, which is rapidly catching up to us as it speeds around the Sun. It will be far brighter than the brightest star, standing out in clear skies. Sometimes it’s even mistaken for a UFO! Have you been fooled before?
