In a world bound by speed and distraction,
shibari offers conscious containment.
Chosen tension.
Intentional pause.
Structure that demands both presence and surrender.
Rope contains the body — and expands the interior landscape.
For this session, local shibari artist and teacher will bind our live models in a style that honours the craft as both discipline and art. The rope becomes composition — line, geometry, and gesture suspended in space.
For artists, this offers a study unlike any other.
The familiar human form becomes layered — textured with pattern, intention, and deliberate stillness.

More to notice.
More to feel.
This session invites curiosity — not only about rope and form — but about the ways containment can sharpen perception. How structure can heighten awareness. How, within the held body, something vast may quietly emerge.

What to Expect
Bring your art supplies & a friend — or come make a few.
We tend to attract kind-hearted folks.
Zero drawing experience needed.
You are also welcome to create in response to the energy of the space — through non-representational art, poetry, or journaling.
(No voyeurism. We make art together.)
Poetry Share – 9:30pm
For anyone wishing to share written words, we will host an open mic during the long pose. As the room casts eyes on muses and paper, you’re invited to step up and speak your own work — or a favourite poem.
