The JXN Project invites you to "The Skipwith-Roper Homecoming" to celebrate the grand opening of The JXN Haus and Skipwith-Roper Cottage from April 17-19, 2026 in partnership with WWBT 12 On Your Side.
- Friday, April 17 from 6pm-8pm: JXN will kickoff the homecoming weekend with a keynote address titled "Declarations of Independence: The Story of a Black Founding Father" as part of The Walter W. Craigie Speaker Series at Historic St. John's Church located at 2401 E. Broad Street – to attend, visit historicstjohnschurch.org/events/dr-sesha-joi-moon.
- Saturday, April 18 from 6pm-10pm: JXN will partner with Monticello to host "Feast of Reason: An Ode to the Hemings Family"; however, tickets are sold out.
- Sunday, April 19 from 1pm-5pm: JXN will conclude the homecoming weekend with a "JXN Open House" in partnership with Richmond Night Market at The JXN Haus and Skipwith-Roper Cottage located at 303 E. Bates Street – to attend, reserve a free ticket via Eventbrite. Tickets are first come, first served with a capacity of 500 tickets. Due to limited parking, ride share is encouraged.
