The Singing Body Seminar is a holistic singing workshop that integrates movement, breathwork, vocal exercises, and embodied awareness to help participants free their natural voice. This approach honors the voice not as a mechanical instrument, but as a living expression of the whole person—body, breath, emotion, and spirit working together.
Designed for everyone from complete beginners to seasoned performers, The Singing Body meets participants where they are. The seminar creates a supportive, non-judgmental environment where singers can release tension, expand vocal range, improve tonal quality, and—perhaps most importantly—move beyond the fear that paralyzes so many people who long to sing but believe they “can’t.”
Items you need to bring for comfort and floor work:
- Water bottle for drinking throughout the class
- Yoga mat or folded blanket
- Cover, blanket or equivalent to stay warm
Modifications can be done in a chair for those who don't wish to get up and down from the ground. A laminated 11 x 17 Singing Body Home Routine with helpful drawings and simple descriptions of the movements is included in the class fee. You will also receive an MP3 to sing along with at home, to warm up and expand your voice on your own. The Singing Body Seminar stands alone, and serves as a pre-requisite for private lessons with Sharon Bousquet.
