** MAKING THEIR GREEN BUS DEBUT!!! **Athens, AL brothers Jacob Greene (upright bass) and Brad Greene (tenor sax, lap steel) and Madison, AL singer-songwriter Taylor Burton (guitar/harmonica) are The Silver Silos. Since 2018, they've entertained the Tennessee Valley with straight-forward, no nonsense songs about good love, bad love, the snooze button and Cheap Trick records.
You can hear Burton's influences throughout: Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, Wilco's Jeff Tweedy, Son Volt and Uncle Tupelo's Jay Farrar, and Old 97's' Rhett Miller are all names that have been come to mind from their fans.
With Jacob Greene (also of Matt Prater Band) driving a percussive low-end on his beaten up pre-war King Mortone upright bass, and his younger brother Brad effortlessly weaving in both country-inflected steel guitar riffs and sizzling saxophone parts, The Silver Silos remain defiant when it comes to category. Alt-country at times, pop-rock at others, it's best to see them in person to understand what they're all about.
The Silver Silos released their debut album "Alabama Stars" in November on 10 Ton Records. Produced by Jeremy Stephens (Alabama Shakes, Jason Isbell, Lamont Landers, Gregg Allman, et al), their 11-song LP (available everywhere on streaming, and also on CD and 180-gram vinyl), features such heavy hitters as James Irvin (The Nerve, former Microwave Dave & the Nukes), Alex Powell (Lamont Landers Band, Camacho), Mike Cole (Matt Prater Band), and Lisa Chang (Narae Jayu, Dammit Doll), and beloved Alabama blues legend Microwave Dave.
