Cabell County Emergency Medical Services is excited to announce that The Shell Family Foundation has gifted a Medcognition Per Sim Hololens Augmented Reality software training system to CCEMS. This state of the art training system greatly enhances the educational experience for students. Marsha Knight, Director of Education for CCEMS stated "We have utilized this system for years but we have never had our own unit here at headquarters. It has transformed our training process and has greatly enhanced the student experience. Having our own system here in Huntington will allow us to increase our training and certification courses. It's a gamechanger for our first responders." Todd Shell, Director of The Shell Family Foundation, stated "We believe that this innovative approach to training and education is an investment in our community. Simply put, this investment will save lives, and our EMT' s and Paramedics will be the best trained in the world. It is exciting to have CCEMS leading the country in education and training."
The system has been delivered and there will be an open training session for those interested in attending April 3, 2025 from 9-4pm at CCEMS Headquarters at 846 8th Avenue, Huntington, WV. The technology will be on display for other interested parties with grant funding available from The Shell Family Foundation.
About the system:
Patient assessment simulation allows providers to demonstrate techniques for assessment and treatment of virtual medical and trauma patients using only the goggles and the tablet. This device is portable and can be used indoors and outdoors. The only requirement is internet capability.
