Title: The Sharp Edges of Cloud Computing
With expectations for datacenters to require 50% more power within the next 5 years the reliance on edge computing will continue to grow with the dependence on Generative AI offerings. We also see the growth of edge computing in IoT applications including manufacturing, medical, and self-driving options. If network availability is not available, will AI be able to run? To mitigate these challenges, the leading technology platforms including Nvidia, Dell, Oracle and Fastly are deeply investing to bring the compute closer to the user. How will this impact cybersecurity and privacy concerns? This presentation will discuss the basics of edge computing, examples of edge computing across multiple industries, cybersecurity risks, and how to address the potential risks.
