Mit „The Session“ startet im Montez ein neues Format, bei dem unterschiedliche Musiker und Künstler aus Frankfurt zusammenkommen, um gemeinsam einen Abend zwischen Jazz, Hip-Hop, Soul und Improvisation zu gestalten. Die Idee dahinter ist simpel: Leute aus der Szene zusammenbringen, musikalische Räume öffnen und Konzerte schaffen, die sich eher wie eine gemeinsame Session anfühlen als wie ein klassisches Bühnenprogramm.
Für die erste Ausgabe am 23.05. ist die Band RADIOHOP aus Amsterdam dabei. Die vier Musiker Joshua Lutz, Euan Jenkins, Johnny Biner und Joel Svedberg verbinden Jazz, Hip-Hop, Groove und improvisierte Musik zu einem sehr eigenen Sound. Dabei geht es weniger um Soli oder einzelne Personen im Vordergrund, sondern vielmehr um das Zusammenspiel und die Atmosphäre, die gemeinsam entsteht.
RADIOHOP wird an dem Abend als Backing Band spielen und durch verschiedene Frankfurter Musiker ergänzt. Mit dabei sind unter anderem Moderator Gier, der Rapper Redd und weitere Artists aus der Szene, die den Abend mitgestalten werden.
Los geht’s um 21 Uhr im Montez. Die Session soll bewusst eine eher intime, leicht unpluggedartige Atmosphäre bekommen – offen, spontan und nah dran am Publikum.

With “The Session”, a new format is launching at Montez, bringing together different musicians and artists from Frankfurt for an evening shaped by jazz, hip-hop, soul, and improvisation. The idea behind it is simple: connect people from the scene, open up musical spaces, and create concerts that feel more like a shared session than a traditional stage performance.
For the first edition on May 23, the Amsterdam-based band RADIOHOP will be joining. The four musicians — Joshua Lutz, Euan Jenkins, Johnny Biner, and Joel Svedberg — blend jazz, hip-hop, groove, and improvised music into a sound that is entirely their own. Rather than focusing on solos or individual performers, the music is centered around interaction, energy, and the atmosphere created together.
Throughout the evening, RADIOHOP will perform as the backing band, joined by various musicians from Frankfurt. Featured guests include Moderator Gier, rapper Redd, and other artists from the local scene who will shape the night together.
The event starts at 9 PM at Montez. The Session is intended to create an intimate, almost unplugged atmosphere — open, spontaneous, and close to the audience.
