About this Event
Lavender Horizons Events is back with our first ever open mic night! But we couldn't just do an ordinary open mic night! Oh no, no, no! This open mic night honours the new beginnings that spring represents. It asks the question: what seeds do we choose to plant for ourselves this year? What do we want to harvest in the months to come? The evening will be split up into 4 sections based on the growth phases of a plant:
Seed
Sprout
Blossom
Harvest
Each section will have featured performances, as well as the opportunity for open mic performers to sign up for a slot based on the theme their piece best embodies, (or just which one they like the best, there are no rules here, what are we, cops?) At the end of each section, some prizes may be handed out based on some folks we feel embody the theme, or just vibes. Never forget the importance of vibes.
Come laugh, come cry, come feel, come set an intention for your next journey, or just tell us how cool you think plants are with your fellow community members in this beautiful new trans-owned cafe, (and don't forget to say hi to the owners and buy some drinks to help support locally-owned queer businesses in the village!) Tickets are pay-what-you-can, but proceeds from this open mic will go to paying the creatives behind it, and help fund the upcoming Lavender Horizons Events Show, "White Screens: Tales of a Coffee Shop Novelist." Please tell your friends, and come support if you can! Lavender Horizons is a brand-new initiative run by one disabled trans writer/performer with zero money and only the power of ADHD and a dream on his side! Let's create something beautiful together!
